E. Scott Fortas has been practicing consumer law since 1999 and has successfully settled, litigated and resolved thousands of consumer protection claims. Additionally, Mr. Fortas is managing attorney for The Fortas Law Group, a criminal defense firm in Atlanta Georgia.

Mr. Fortas concentrated his practice on consumer and lemon law claims for the Georgia division of a national consumer law firm from 2000-2005, prior to establishing The Fortas Law Group. He is a member in good standing of the Georgia State Bar Association and has been admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Mr. Fortas graduated from the University of Arizona in 1991. He received his JD from John Marshall Law School in 1995. After graduating from law school, Mr. Fortas worked at a civil litigation firm in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Fortas continues in the tradition of practicing law as a descendent of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas, a Lyndon Johnson appointee, who served on the Supreme Court from 1965-1969. Justice Fortas sat on the court during Miranda vs. Arizona, a landmark Supreme Court decision that had profound legal and historical impact. Mr. Fortas is currently licensed to practice in the State of Ga and admitted in the Northern District of Georgia.
